Under the guidance of Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. T.V. Kattimani, the Department of Computer Science at the Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh (CTUAP) conducted a Two-Day workshop on “Prevention of Cyber Crimes and Cyber Security Practices for Countering Cyber-Attacks and Cyber Terrorism” from August 19-20, 2024. The workshop focused on educating and empowering participants to aware of Cyber Crimes, latest knowledge on Cyber Security challenges and best practices and Cyber Terrorism.
All U.G. and P.G. students of CTUAP, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff participated in the workshop. Dr. BonthuKotaiah, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science, and the Convener of the workshop, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the critical importance of Cyber Security in today’s digital landscape. The presidential address by Prof. T. Srinivasan, Registrar (I/c), emphasized the urgent need for Cyber Security awareness and the importance of proactive measures to protect against cyber threats.
- SaiSatish, a Techno Geek, Ethical hacker, and Founder & CEO of Indian Servers, served as the resource person and delivered an engaging session on various types of current cyber crimes, providing practical advice on how individuals and organizations can protect themselves.
- Shri A. BalaSubrahmanyam, Joint Director (IT) / Scientist-D at the National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics & IT, Govt. of India, served as the resource person and discussed various cyber-attacks and Cyber Terrorism, as well as strategies for securing Cyber-connected devices.
- MudragadaSai, Cyber Security Consultant at Big Datamatica Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, served as the resource person and shared his expertise on best practices in Cyber Security for countering Cyber-attacks and Cyber Terrorism.He also explained OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities like SQL Injection Attack and etc.by mentioning the various methods hackers use to breach security systems , participants a deep understanding of the theoretical aspects of security strategies and also hands-on experience was invaluable in reinforcing the concepts learned. The Participants left with a renewed commitment to apply the skills and knowledge acquired, enhancing their ability to prevent and respond to cyber incidents.

At end of the workshop participants able to
- Understand the current Cyber threats, including various types of Cyber Crimes and attack methods.
- Identify and defend against real-world Cyber-attacks, reinforcing theoretical concepts.
- Developed a heightened awareness of CyberSecurity best practices and the importance of proactive measures to safeguard against Cyber threats.
- Insights into effective strategies for securing Cyber-connected devices and systems were shared, equipping participants with actionable knowledge for implementation.
