Shri Madan Lal Meena IAS(Retd) Former Additional Chief Secretary Govt of West Bengal
Sh Madan Lal Meena is a former member of the IAS. He passed degree of MA in History, M.Phil from JNU and MHRD from Drury University, Springfield, MO, USA. Shri Meena joined the IAS in 1983 West Bengal cadre. Apart from holding very significant and important assignments in West Bengal, he has also served in the Govt of India. Under Government of West Bengal some of the post held by him are: District Magistrate and Collectors of Burdwan and Mursidabad districts, Executive Director of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation, Managing Director of Essential Services Corporation, Principal Secretary/ACS Dept of Environment, Dept of Disaster Management, Dept of Food Processing and Horticulture, Commissioner Presidency Division etc. In the Govt of India he was Chairman, Haldia Port and Chairman Kolkata Port Trust. He was Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, and Director General CAPART. Sh Meena was also chairman of CIWTC, Indian ports Association. Currently he is Spl Rappoteur National Human Rights Commission, GC member Delhi Gymkhana Club. He is also IEM of DGCA and Director General Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum. He received overseas fellowship to pursue higher studies in USA and while in the university he was Academic Professional delivering education teaching and undertaking research to support the development of knowledge in Public Policy. Shri Meena has a keen interest in social work and he is President of Tribal Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and closely working with various other organisations for tribal development, and Educational Trusts.
