The Department of Chemistry at CTUAPis committed to providing students with a solid foundation and comprehensive knowledge in the ever-growing field of Chemistry.

Chemistry programs aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) integrate fundamental principles, theories, and practical applications within the discipline. These educational frameworks typically include a diverse set of courses, including but not limited to Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Chemical Biology, covering a spectrum of relevant subjects.Our laboratories are furnished with the essential instruments and infrastructure required for conducting experiments across various branches of Chemistry.

The faculty members within the department are highly qualified and motivated, demonstrating a strong dedication to both teaching and research.The department is dedicated to addressing global challenges in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Renewable Energy, Environmental Sustainability, Nanotechnology, and the well-being of Tribal communities through its research initiatives.

Programs & Curriculum: 

The Department of Chemistry offers two programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

  1. 4-Year B.Sc. (Hons. / Hons. with Research) Chemistry
  2. 2-Year M.Sc. Chemistry

Internships & Placements:

  • Department is actively engaged in establishing the Industry-Institute tie-ups with pharmaceutical industries and reputed academic institutes for project work, Internships, Placements and collaborative research.

  • 12 out of the 14 students from the M.Sc Chemistry 2021 batch have secured positions in the Quality Control division at M/S Hetero Labs Limited, Visakhapatnam.

Laboratories :

The following laboratory facilities available for B.Sc (Honors/Honours with Research) Chemistry and M.Sc Chemistry students of Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh. All the Laboratories are equipped with basic instruments for experiments in Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry, allowing students to familiarize themselves with fundamental concepts in chemistry.

Instruments & Equipment:

The following instruments and equipment available for B.Sc (Honors/Honours with Research) Chemistry and M.Sc Chemistry students to carry out the experiments in Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry practicums. Further, Students pursuing research projects may have access to more specialized equipment to carryout research work.
