Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, School of Management Studies, Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh, organized a workshop on “Careers in Tourism and Travel.” on March 16, 2024. Mr. Amaresh Kumar Tiwari, CEO – Meetings and Incentives World A. T. Seasons & Vacations Travel Pvt. Ltd. and Vice Chairman – India Convention Promotion Bureau, Dr. Kranti P. Sawarkar, Joint General Manager (Tourism), IRCTC Regional Officer, Bhuwaneshwar and Mrs. Jyoti Mayal, President TAAI & Director, New Airways Travel Pvt. Ltd. (Delhi) participated as resource persons. The workshop was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. T. V. Kattimani. The event started with welcome address by Prof. Jitendra Mohan Mishra, Dean of the School of Management Studies. Mrs. Jyoti Mayal who joined the event online shared her valuable insights about the tourism industry. Dr. Kranti P. Sawarkar highlighted the career opportunities in IRCTC for the students. She emphasized on the soft skills required by the students in order to have successful career in the field of tourism. Mr. Tiwari emphasized on the importance of destination knowledge and communication skills to excel in the tourism industry. Mr. Tiwari also gave insights about the MICE industry and discussed the various roles and opportunities available in the sector. Prof. T V. Kattimani advised the students to acquire the skills and to make themselves job ready for the dynamic and growing tourism industry. In the open question answer session, students asked various questions related to career in tourism sector. The event concluded with a vote of thanks. The program was attended other faculty members and the students of the school.
