The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh (CTUAP) and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-Delhi) collaboratively organized a two-day workshop on Open Access Publishing, supported by ORCID-GPF 2024 from 12-13th, Dec 2024. The workshop aimed to provide comprehensive training on the fundamental principles and practical aspects of open-access publishing to faculty members, scientists, and academic staff. The resource persons of the workshop Dr. Nabi Hasan, Head Librarian, IIT Delhi and Dr. Mohit Garg, Assistant Librarian at IIT-Delhi addressed and enlightened the gathering with their knowledge and experience through technical sessions. The workshop covered topics such as: UNESCO Values and Principles of Open Science, Open access models, Open public licensing, Ethical standards in open-access publishing, and Effective utilization of open publishing platforms. Prof. M. Saratchandra Babu, Dean, School of Social Sciences & Humanities addressed the inaugural session, while coordinator of the workshop Dr. Parikipandla Sridevi and Co-cordinator Dr. D Narayana facilitated the registrations and workshop for participants not only from nearby colleges of Vizianagaram but also faculty, librarians and research scholars from Andhra university, Ambedkar university and Nagarjuna university. During his presidential remarks Prof. T.V. Kattimani, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, CTUAP highlighted that the significance of open-access publishing in academia and research which is growing rapidly. By embracing this approach, researchers can broaden the dissemination of their findings, promote global collaboration, foster innovation, and create a more accessible knowledge repository. Prof. Srinivasan T, Registrar, Dr. Prama Chatterjee, Member of committee and all other faculty members of CTUAP also attended the workshop of two days and made it successful.
