On 15 August 2026 the 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh (CTUAP) on Saturday. The In-charge Vice-Chancellor, Prof. T. Srinivasan, hoisted the National Flag and paid his respects to the Tricolour. Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and emphasized the responsibility of every citizen to uphold the unity, sovereignty and democratic values of the nation. He called upon the youth to play a significant role in nation-building and to cultivate patriotism, social responsibility and ethical values along with academic excellence. He also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to the holistic development and empowerment of tribal students.
The celebrations featured patriotic songs, cultural programmes and vibrant patriotic dance performances by the students. Their enthusiastic performances added colour and spirit to the celebrations and reflected the ideals of patriotism, national unity and pride. The in-charge Registrar Prof. Jitendra Mohan Mishra, Finance Officer(I/c) Prof. Sarath Chandra Babu, Librarian Dr. Kolle Shankar Reddy, Controller of Examinations(I/c) Dr. Suresh Babu Kilidindi, Dean, Students’ Welfare Dr. Bonthu Kotaiah, Programme Coordinators Dr. Anurudh Kumar, Divya, Administrative Officer Dr. N. V. S. Suryanarayana, along with faculty members, officers, staff and students we.re attended. The celebrations concluded on a patriotic note, fostering a strong sense of national pride, unity and commitment to the ideals of independent India, plantation at university premises and also various students were awarded with medals for the winners of various games organized as part of Independence Day.
