Panel Discussion on: Immediate Implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam-2023
The students of Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh organized a panel discussion on the immediate implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, 2023, on 13 th April, 2026 at 2:30 PM, at Campus., wherein Dr. Prama Chatterjee, Nodal Officer, formally welcomed the dignitaries and Prof. Jitendra Mohan Misra, Registrar (I/C), delivered the introductory address highlighting the imperative of gender-inclusive governance. The panel comprised of Dr. T. Sudha Coordinator, Women Empowerment Cell, MR (A) College, Vizianagaram, Dr. P. S. Latha Kalyampudi, Assistant Professor & Head (I/C), Department of Computer Science, Dr. Kusum, Assistant Professor & Head (I/C), Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, Ms. Kalpna, PhD Scholar, Department of English, Ms. G.Anuradha, PhD Scholar, Department of Sociology, Ms. Ch. Chittimma, Department of Tribal Studies, and Ms. Prachi Misra PhD Scholar, Department of Biotechnology, who collectively examined the historical evolution of the Bill since 1996 and critically analyzed the persistent structural, socio-cultural, and institutional barriers to women’s political participation, including illiteracy, lack of awareness, proxy representation, gender-based violence, and the “triple burden” borne by women.
The panel discussion was highly significant as it focused on women in legislative bodies. The session witnessed active student participation. the suggestions came out from the discussion policy-oriented recommendations such as time-bound implementation, promoting political participation among young women at the university level, ensuring equitable opportunities within political parties, and creating safe and inclusive spaces. the panelists emphasized the need to promote awareness about the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ among women and society at large. The Panelists provided valuable insights into women’s empowerment as a crucial factor for national progress. More than 100 students have participated in the program. students from nearby College named MR (A) College also have participated and they raised questions to the panelists, shared their views and suggestions. best speakers awards were given to Ms. Anisha, from dept of Botany, Ms Sindhu Priya from Biotechnology and Ms Sathi from Geology Department.
The entire deliberations underscored the Act as a transformative legislative measure for advancing women’s empowerment and participatory democracy, aligning with national developmental priorities and the vision of Viksit Bharat, followed by taking Pledge, certificate distributions. The programme concluded by a formal vote of thanks given by the Nodal officer of the program.
