Every year International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 08 globally to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year United Nations Women are celebrating, the International Women’s Day 2025 under the theme For ALL Women and Girls: Equality. Rights. Empowerment. The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh celebrated “International Women’s Day” at its campus at Kondakaram, Vizianagaram from March 07 – 08, 2024. The Chief-Guest of the day Padma Shri Damayanti Beshra, Professor and Retired Principal of MPC Autonomous College, Baripada, addressed and enlightened the gathering with her knowledge and experience. She shared that women has integral role in every aspect of life within house as well as at work place. The presence of women brings significant difference, contributing diverse perspectives, skills and talents to various spheres of the society. During his presidential remarks Prof. T.V. Kattimani, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, CTUAP highlighted that the importance of education for women and asserted that everyone should gain the knowledge. He also appreciated the contributions of women in creating more inclusive and equitable environment for everyone. Dr. P. Sridevi, Chairperson, Women’s cell, CTUAP, introduced the theme of International Women’s Day. The celebrations also included a women walk where the single mothers of the students participated from different departments of the university. Women cell also felicitated the single mothers acknowledging their strength and contribution in shaping the future of the nation. In order to mark the occasion, various competitions such as rangoli, debate and documentary were organized and the students were felicitated for the same. The faculty members, non-teaching staff students, and of the university participated in the program.
