Green Chemistry of Sustainable Catalysts

Green chemistry, also known as sustainable chemistry, focuses on designing products and processes that minimize environmental impact and reduce the use of hazardous substances. Catalysts play a crucial role in chemical reactions by increasing reaction rates and selectivity, and their design and use in a sustainable manner align with the principles of green chemistry.

In this context, department of chemistry organized one-day seminar on “Green Chemistry of Sustainable Catalysts – Treatment of non-degradable pollutants and value-added conversion” on 9-12-2023 at CTUAP Seminar Hall. Prof. Sreekantha B. Jonnalagadda, Department of Chemistry & Physics, University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa was the distinguished speaker of the event. The program was graced by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. T.V. Kattimani and delivered his presidential remarks.
