A Two Day National Seminar on “WRITING OF TRIBAL HISTORY – ANDHRA PRADESH ” on 24th & 25th January, 2024, sponsored by ICSSR

The Department of Tribal Studies (DTS) at the Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh recently organized a two-day National Seminar on the Writing of Tribal History, generously sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. On the inaugural day, distinguished speakers such as Prof. D. Satya Pal Kumar, Prof. B. Rama Chandra Reddy, Prof. Malli Gandhi, Dr. Sivarama Krishna, and Dr. Vijay Korra delivered insightful sessions.

The seminar commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and was inaugurated by Prof. T.V. Kattimani along with the esteemed speakers. On the following day, Prof. Challapalli Swaroopa Rani, Dr. Manige Reddeppa, Prof. N. Bhakthavathsala Reddy, and Dr. B. Roja shared their perspectives in engaging lectures on January 25, 2024.

In summary, the event proved to be a thought-provoking and informative gathering that brought attention to the often-overlooked contributions of tribal communities within the historical context of Andhra Pradesh. The seminar successfully blended academic rigor, unveiling past, present, and future insights into the thoughts surrounding tribes in Andhra Pradesh.
